Why is ClearQuoter free?
Because the benchmark gets stronger every time someone audits a real quote. Free audits work as a trade: you get the full dollar verdict on your own lines, and those lines join the benchmark as anonymized observations — vendor names hashed, your identity never attached, nothing published. The data is the product; your contribution is the price.
What do I have to share, exactly?
Only what you audit: the line descriptions, quantities, and prices from quotes you choose to run. Contribution is consented explicitly, vendor names are stored as one-way hashes, and no personal or company-identifying data enters the benchmark. You can withdraw consent at any time from your account.
Can I opt out of contributing?
Any account can adjust its contribution preference in settings, any time. Contribution is anonymized — vendor names hashed, identity never attached, nothing published — and it’s what keeps the benchmark strong, so most users stay in. On a free account, contribution is what unlocks full verdicts and lookups; Pro access doesn’t depend on it.
How do catalog lookups work on the free tier?
You earn them. Each real quote you share (three or more priced lines) unlocks 30 days of catalog lookups at 25 a day — enough for a working procurement week. Pro lookups are unlimited with no earning required.
What happens after the 14-day Pro trial?
Nothing is charged, because nothing can be — we don’t collect a card to start the trial. When the 14 days end, your account simply continues on the free tier. If you want to keep Pro, you subscribe then, at the founding rate.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — self-serve from the billing portal, no email required. Your founding rate holds for as long as you stay continuously subscribed. If you cancel and come back later, you rejoin at whatever the rate is then.
Do you store my quotes?
Anonymous audits are processed and discarded — never stored. Signed-in audits contribute anonymized line observations (that’s the trade), and full saved audits with your own history are a Pro feature you invoke explicitly.
Can I expense ClearQuoter?
ClearQuoter is a procurement tool. Most teams expense it as a software subscription under procurement, marketing operations, or vendor management.
