- Tracked item
- A product in the ClearQuoter catalog. May or may not have enough data for a benchmark range.
- Benchmarked item
- A tracked item with a published market range (floor, typical, ceiling). Requires data from at least 3 independent vendors.
- Building item
- A tracked item without enough vendor data for a full range. ClearQuoter shows whatever data exists and invites contributions.
- Not tracked
- A product not yet in the catalog. Clearly flagged in audit results.
- Confidence tier
- HIGH (10+ vendors), MEDIUM (6–9), LOW (3–5). Indicates data depth.
- Market range
- The floor-to-ceiling price band for a benchmarked item at a given quantity.
- Floor
- The lowest observed vendor price for this item and quantity.
- Ceiling
- The highest observed vendor price for this item and quantity.
- Typical
- The median across all observed vendor prices.
- Within range
- A quoted price between floor and ceiling.
- Above market
- A quoted price exceeding the ceiling.
- Modeled spec sheet
- An estimated cost structure for items without enough data for a benchmark. Clearly labeled, never blended into benchmarked bands.
- Contribution
- Anonymized pricing data from opted-in users. Reviewed before inclusion.
