Tracked item
A product in the ClearQuoter catalog. May or may not have enough data for a benchmark range.
Benchmarked item
A tracked item with a published market range (floor, typical, ceiling). Requires data from at least 3 independent vendors.
Building item
A tracked item without enough vendor data for a full range. ClearQuoter shows whatever data exists and invites contributions.
Not tracked
A product not yet in the catalog. Clearly flagged in audit results.
Confidence tier
HIGH (10+ vendors), MEDIUM (6–9), LOW (3–5). Indicates data depth.
Market range
The floor-to-ceiling price band for a benchmarked item at a given quantity.
Floor
The lowest observed vendor price for this item and quantity.
Ceiling
The highest observed vendor price for this item and quantity.
Typical
The median across all observed vendor prices.
Within range
A quoted price between floor and ceiling.
Above market
A quoted price exceeding the ceiling.
Modeled spec sheet
An estimated cost structure for items without enough data for a benchmark. Clearly labeled, never blended into benchmarked bands.
Contribution
Anonymized pricing data from opted-in users. Reviewed before inclusion.
